I’m working on a video game this week, called There Came An Echo. It looks amazing, the story is fantastic, and cast is pretty great (if I do say so myself).
Here’s a little spoiler, with some of the dialog I recorded yesterday:

Okay, so. I'm developing this Star Trek Lower Decks fan fiction I call The Wedding Crusher.
This is about Congo Bongo, except for the parts that aren't.
I haven't actually listened to a full album in a really, really long time. Like, other than Pink Floyd records, which must be listened to in their entirety, always (I will not be taking questions at this time), it just hasn't occurred to me to listen to, say, all of In Utero.
When I was young, I thought dudes in their 50s were lame and had nothing to offer. Now that I'm one of those dudes, I understand what a gift it is when you ask me to share my experiences.
I’m a kickstarter backer and I saw the update from the other day. I’m super excited about this game!

I’ve always wondered how the audio recording for video games worked….
I’d highly recommend the movie “I Know That Voice”. It’s about voiceover for animation, but they touch on video games too. There’s a surprising amount of complexity to the process.
“We can do emotion time later”? Well, there’s a t-shirt slogan if ever I saw one.

The Wil Wheaton is a lie.
Hi Wil! I hope one of your voice actors is Arnold Schwarzenegger; “Goddammit!” and “Sweet!” would be awesome phrases for him to emote in a game. Just kidding, I’m sure whoever you got to do voices in this game will be great!
I’m cracking up because Sam and Grace are my kids’ names.
This reminded me about the EQ2 work you did. I used to go over to where the characters hang around just to visit them. When they revamped the zones a while ago, all those NPCs got dropped. I was sad when I realized it.
didn’t know Wil did EQ2 voices – where were the characters? /fond memories of that game
I wondered when we’d see something about this ever since the post on the PS Blog about it – the word is, it’s meant to be very story and character heavy, so a lot of work for you I’d imagine. A voice controlled strategy game could be a winner, if they can nail the voice controls down – they’ve always been a little dodgy and dependent on it recognising certain accents.
Reaching back to the original article from one of the developers, the post was:
“We couldn’t be more excited to work with this incredible pool of talent. Well, maybe we could be, if they promise to bring Oreos to the recording sessions later this year. (Wil, I know you’re reading this. Seriously. Bring them.)”
So, did you bring the Oreos?
I wonder if Iridium Studios and Firaxis share space. I wasn’t 100% sure during the live stream but I think the horse-headed gentleman looked familiar.
Somehow you have slip in ‘Damn you Skelator!’
:laughs: Ibobeque. Very true.
Wil, this looks wicked cool. Keep us posted. I agree with Shandygirl, for “We can do emotion time later.”As a T-Shirt logo. .
There are so very many ways that you could pronounce that first line (based on context) that would change its meaning completely. Good luck, sir.
Two games that my group loves and would love to see you play are Kemet and Cosmic Encounter.
