I have many things to write about, and many experiences to share.

But right now I am emotionally and physically exhausted, so here’s a picture of a Beholder:

BEHOLD(er)

Did you go to GenCon? What did you play/buy/playtest/demo that you loved? Any huge hits or misses you want to share with the rest of us?

Great Con. Enjoyed just about everything. Highlights were probably The Strange RPG and Timewatch (Pelgrane Press — not out yet). One weird thing, it did not feel as crowded to me or my friends, yet it broke the attendance record. We wondered if the events were better spread out in the connected hotels. looking forward to playing some FAGE/Titansgrave in the next couple of weeks.

GenCon was fantastic! We met you at the Mage Wars area and you were very nice about not wanting a picture taken. Beyond that, games wise, we loved a new game called Monarch. The premise is that the queen has died and you play princesses competing with each other to build the best court in order to become the next queen. You can foist unwanted guests on your sisters to make their courts less attractive, but there are other really neat game mechanics as well. We also played, enjoyed and bought Mage Wars: Academy, Coup: Rebellion G54, One Night Revolution, the Legendary Secret Wars expansion, Cthulu Realms (similar to Star Realms with a Cthulu theme) and a few others.

I don’t care what you say. That is just Mike Waszowski on LSD

I really wanted to come to your Titansgrave panel, but it was during one of the times I was scheduled to perform. (Bah. Why can’t I clone myself?) As to games, my boyfriend picked up one called “Spike” that we are both really liking. It’s got some “Ticket To Ride” going on, but also has a lot of added interest (one makes routes, but also picks up commodities from one city to deliver to another, and the winner is the player who makes the most money). It works well for the two of us, since I love “Ticket To Ride”, but he’s honestly a little burnt out on it.
