50,000 Monkeys at 50,000 Typewriters Can't Be Wrong

The Roll Model T is in its final days.

We are in the final days of my Roll Model T-shirt with Stands, and I felt like this was a good opportunity to post all the amazing graphics Riley at Stands has made for me to use during the campaign.

These are all based on original AD&D books, and I love them so much I kind of wish we could make them into prints.

I’ve been busy with work, and struggling with my mental health, for months, now. I’ve learned that a big part of my self care routine is to be grateful for good things, even if they seem very small, because those little bits of light in the darkness can come together to help guide me out of a painful place. These images have reminded me of the decades of joy I’ve had playing D&D, and have reminded me that there have been incredibly good times in my life, even at a time like this when all I can seem to feel is sadness and despair.

So I guess I’m tying to say thank you to Riley and everyone at Stands for not just giving me the opportunity to put something fun into the world (when I was on the Star Trek cruise earlier this month, I saw some people wearing Owl Bear shirts and it made me so happy, like we were fellow travelers who were sharing an inside joke), but also for indirectly granting me a strong connection to happy and joyful memories.

Aren’t they great?! Now I want to go into the game room, pull out my D&D books, and plan a retro campaign for some friends.

Someone’s gonna “umactually” me about the Basic Red Box book up there, because it isn’t technically AD&D. Because I know that none of you want to be that person, I’m rewarding each of you with 1d4+2 electrum pieces for staying cool.

I think this counts as successfully checking for traps.

There is a kickstarter that implies your endorsement, but the video upon watching seems vague on whether you actually are giving an endorsement or if you’re just saying a proverbial ‘from what you say what you’re doing sounds fun’……do you know these guys and have you personally endorsed them?

It’s not an endorsement, and though I think it’s neat, they’re being misleading by implying I have endorsed it.

I love the Deities and Demigods one so much. Erol Otus was always a favorite of mine.

I can’t tell you how much I needed to be reminded of the little things today.

Thanks for still putting yourself out there like you do. You’re an amazing person.

The shirt is really cool, but yeah, these “covers” are amazing. I wonder if there’s a way they could be made as posters? To be sold for more Humane Society helpage?

Wil – Wish I could have met you on the cruise – I had everything planed, but life went terribly wrong and had to cancel. I’m going thru a real rough period of deep depression with SI (even tried) and reading your stories helps me know that even the famous have issues just like me. Keep posting and doing what you do – it helps – making it one day at a time.

This is fully awesome! Makes me want to pull out my classic Ad&D books, but alas – I was one of the foolish ones who allowed their Mom to put it in the garage sale.

I wanted to give a cyber fist bump for sharing your mental health journey with us. I too, have had a difficult couple months – but am always lifted when I see your posts in my inbox. Together, this crazy bunch of nerds community you’ve built will help all of us coopertively. Wil, you’ve created something very good here.

Looking forward to all future posts…
