Here’s The Game Lineup for Tabletop Season Four

  • blog
  • Games

Agressive BreedingWe looked at eleven million games, and playtested ninety-six thousand games, for season four of Tabletop.

The exact order that we’re releasing episodes and the exact timeline for the release isn’t set yet, and it isn’t up to me, but here are the games we’ve settled on for Tabletop Season Four:

  • Lanterns
  • Fury of Dracula
  • Mysterium
  • Code Names (with six players for maximum funtimes)
  • FATE Core RPG
  • Dragon Farkle
  • Flashpoint
  • Harbour
  • Eldritch Horror
  • Star Realms
  • Monarch
  • Star Trek – 5 Year Mission
  • Champions of Midgard
  • Steam Park
  • Tiny Epic Galaxies
  • Welcome To The Dungeon
  • Misspent Youth RPG

This season, I wanted to play games that were accessible to families, indie games, more RPGs, and at least one or two games that broke the rules I usually use to choose games. We start filming in a few days, and the season will be released starting in June or July. And because I know it’s going to end up being a FAQ: Titansgrave’s second season is in development right now. We’re aiming to film it in a couple of months, and release it in Autumn.

I hope there’s at least one thing here that you’re looking forward to, and PLAY MORE GAMES!!

@Adam: I LOVE Star Trek – 5 Year mission! I’m super excited for WilW to play it, too!

  3. Simon says:

I’ve never heard of any of these! Now I’m excited. Also, I hope you play the new expansion for “betrayal at house on the hill” really curious to see what Zoe and Anita bring to the game.

But I’m now excited for season 4.

Really jazzed for the new season! I’d been hoping that you’d play Cthulhu Wars as well, but I guess the price point on the game might have made it a difficult choice…

    1. Christopher Kenna says:
      22 April, 2016 at 5:22 pm

I too was hoping for cthulhu wars…

Can’t wait! Thank you so much for a Season 4 and for a second Titansgrave!

I played Mysterium for the first time in January. My first thought was about Table Top and how much fun it will look like on the show

A lot of games there that I want to try. Can’t wait to watch the next season!

I’m definitely interested to see Fury of Dracula, and Eldritch Horror is a great game (one of the favorites at our game table here). I’m looking forward to seeing S4 (and the return of Titansgrave)!

I’m just surprised there isn’t any exploding kittens, the Kickstarter runaway hit!

    1. Chris R says:
      22 April, 2016 at 11:18 pm

The problem is that there isn’t much game to Exploding Kittens. It would be pretty boring to watch people draw cards for 10-15 minutes, then play them all in the last 5.

    OH HECK YEAH!!!! Excited.

That is AWESOME news!! My son and I (age 10) can not wait to watch more TableTop and I am happy it will be a little family friendly.

  18. karohemd says:
    22 April, 2016 at 5:06 pm

That’s an excellent lineup. Mysterium is one beautiful game and should work well.
Is Fury of Dracula going to be a double episode? That’s a four hour game at least.

    1. Wil says:
      22 April, 2016 at 5:07 pm

Yeah, Fury of Dracula, Eldritch Horror, and both RPGs are set to be two-part episodes.

      1. David Schmitt says:
        22 April, 2016 at 8:12 pm

Oh sweet. The 4 I’m most looking forward to!

      2. Bob says:
        22 April, 2016 at 10:48 pm

Ahh… that makes sense. Those aren’t exactly fillers.

        Kicka** games!

Eldritch Horror is my favourite (I learned British English in school. Deal with it!) boardgame ever! This will be epic!

    yay!

  20. Chris Bannick says:

    Where was my invite?

  21. Fabiano 'Kavis' Pires says:
    22 April, 2016 at 5:24 pm

How’s Eldritch Horror gonna work? It takes FOREVEEEEEEEEEEEEER… I’m expecting a 6 part episode now.

  22. Todd Bergman says:
    22 April, 2016 at 5:25 pm

Our family loved Mysterium. We also got another family hooked on it. Im curious if you will use the U.S. edition rules.

We use a modified system similar to the original rules. I have found it to be easier to bring more and younger people to the game.

  23. Mike Fitts (@MikeFittsat140) says:
    22 April, 2016 at 5:29 pm

I’m excited about many of them, but a little surprised that Secret Hitler isn’t on the list. Is retail availability an issue, I wonder?

    1. Wil says:
      22 April, 2016 at 5:32 pm

I believe we’d have to geo-lock that episode from Germany, if we played SH, so we decided not to do it.

      1. Mike Fitts (@MikeFittsat140) says:
        22 April, 2016 at 5:42 pm

Ahh, that’s right, thanks. I’m guessing the Kickstarter was North America only, too. Too bad, my group has enjoyed the free print-and-play.

        1. xero says:
          22 April, 2016 at 7:27 pm

yea it is and i actually got into an argument with the creator on a facebook group about the name i told him it was a bad idea

  24. Jeff says:
    22 April, 2016 at 5:34 pm

Very cool Wil. My family and I are looking forward to both upcoming seasons.

  25. Joe Parisi says:
    22 April, 2016 at 5:36 pm

Wil, you just made my weekend! So excited to see you all play games our gaming group has already played: Code Names, Welcome to the Dungeon (which we just played last week) and Eldritch Horror (which we’re playing this Sunday — although we never win!). I’ve also heard good things about Fury of Dracula and Steam Park.

And even better, I can’t wait for the next season of Titansgrave! I really hope you can continue the campaign with the same party, but if not, I know whoever you choose will be awesome!

    Thanks for the great news!

Lanterns is a great tile laying game but since you played it on Game the Game already how about Karuba? Anyways, great show love to watch it.

How you keep missing on Cutthroat Caverns and Nevermore is beyond me.

  28. Andrea Barnes says:
    22 April, 2016 at 7:09 pm

Oooh sweet! I recently picked up and played Lanterns a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. LOVE that Codenames is on there, the last time we played it a friend of ours earned a permanent nickname that he’ll never be able to shake.

I’m also very happy to see Steam Park on the list. It’s one that I’ve seen at my local game shop and considered picking up. Now that it’s going to be on Tabletop, I’m almost certainly going to have to grab it up!

Thanks, Wil and Co.! I’m so excited for June (or July! 😉 )

Really looking forward to this season. We have Mysterium, but don’t know how to play it. Also, we love Lanterns and Star Realms. My 10 year old beats me at S.R. every time! My husband and I can’t figure out how he does it-and we’re not dumming it down!

  33. Adam scholze says:
    22 April, 2016 at 7:47 pm

My I ask if you’ve considered the game, ‘Evolution’ by Northstar? It’s one of the best “luck to strategy” games I’ve found

  34. Stephen says:
    22 April, 2016 at 7:48 pm

Excellent!! Went broke buying several of the games from the first couple of seasons (more to get) and playing with my two teens… Definitely looking forward to more!

  35. Travis says:
    22 April, 2016 at 8:04 pm

Yes! More RPG’s are never a bad thing!

  36. Vinimzo (@vinimzo) says:
    22 April, 2016 at 8:04 pm

I was hoping The Bloody Inn would be played this season!
But that’s a very good lineup. I’m looking forward for Eldrich Horror!

  37. Thomas says:
    22 April, 2016 at 8:16 pm

I’m thoroughly excited to see you and the team play Star Realms and Five Year Mission! I expect Fury of Dracula will be entertaining to watch as well, I’ve only gotten to play it twice.

Titansgrave season 2 cannot release fast enough for me. But I’ll be patient because I want it to have time to be as amazing as the first season was!

  44. Andrew Hackard says:
    22 April, 2016 at 9:27 pm

Code Names is a fantastic party game and Flash Point is a really well-done co-op. Solid choices all around!

  45. Mark Long says:
    22 April, 2016 at 9:44 pm

Some of my favorite games are featured!! Fury or Dracula, Codenames and Mysterium. Can’t wait for Season 4.

  48. Kate says:

So exciting! So many games I love and so many I’ve been curious about.

  49. BobC says:
    22 April, 2016 at 11:13 pm

He tells me, “We don’t play board games.”
“Did you watch those TableTop videos?”
    “No.”

A few weeks ago he says, “We got ‘Settlers of Catan’.”
“So, you made it to the second episode?”

Score! I didn’t tell him there’s a Star Trek Catan. He’ll just have to watch the videos.

And, yes, his entire family is excited about the new season of TableTop.

I am so tempted to tell him that the new season won’t make any sense unless he first watches all the prior episodes.

  50. Michael Botterill says:

Shame Thunderbirds didn’t make the cut, I love that game.
